This 5 Minute Cheesy Garlic Bread is the ideal simple side to whip up to go with all manner of meals, from pasta to barbecue. Use a baguette or whatever bread you like and melted cheese is an optional addition!
Make the garlic butter – Melt the butter in 10-second intervals in the microwave until it softens (it will take roughly 20 seconds).
Mix in the garlic, parsley and salt using a spoon.
Spread the butter on the bread – Spread the butter mixture on one side of the bread slices.
Add the cheese – Top each slice with the grated cheese, if using.
Grill (broil) – Place your bread on a baking tray (use two trays if needed so that no pieces overlap). Grill (broil) for 2–5 minutes. The bread will cook quickly so keep an eye on it.
Serve – Serve immediately.
Notes
Note 1 – Mozzarella or cheddar is best. Pre-shredded cheese can be used but contains additives, so it doesn’t melt as well as freshly grated cheese.
