Ingredients
- 4 tbsp (56 g) unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp garlic, freshly minced
- 1 tbsp parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 baguette, cut into thick 1.5 cm or 1/2” slices
- 1.5 cups (150 g) grated melting cheese (see note 1), optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven grill/broiler.
- Melt the butter in 10-second intervals in the microwave until it softens (it will take roughly 20 seconds).
- Mix in garlic, parsley and salt using a spoon.
- Spread the butter mixture on one side of the bread slices.
- Top each slice with the grated cheese, if using.
- Place your bread on a baking tray (use two trays if needed so that no pieces overlap). Grill/broil for 2-5 minutes. They will cook quickly. Keep an eye on them.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Note 1 – Mozzarella or tasty cheese/cheddar is best. Pre-shredded cheese can be used but contains additives. It doesn’t melt as well as freshly grated cheese.
