Ingredients
- 80 g (23/4 oz) unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp freshly minced garlic
- 1 tbsp finely chopped parsley
- 1 tsp sea salt flakes
- 1 baguette, cut into thick 1.5 cm (1/2 inch) slices
- 11/2 cups (225 g) grated melting cheese (see note 1), optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven grill (broiler).
- Melt the butter in 10-second intervals in the microwave until it softens (it will take roughly 20 seconds).
- Mix in the garlic, parsley and salt using a spoon.
- Spread the butter mixture on one side of the bread slices.
- Top each slice with the grated cheese, if using.
- Place your bread on a baking tray (use two trays if needed so that no pieces overlap). Grill (broil) for 2–5 minutes. The bread will cook quickly so keep an eye on it.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Note 1 – Mozzarella or cheddar is best. Pre-shredded cheese can be used but contains additives, so it doesn’t melt as well as freshly grated cheese.
MAKE AHEAD
