  • Total Time: 5 mins
  • Yield: 1 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale

Oats

  • 3/4 cup quick oats
  • 1.5 cups milk (see note 1)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Toppings

  • 1 tbsp milk (see note 1)
  • 1/2 banana, sliced
  • 3 strawberries, sliced
  • 1 tbsp nuts of choice (I used walnuts)
  • 1 tbsp coconut flakes
  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Combine the oats ingredients in a small saucepan and cook on medium heat, stirring continually until it reaches your desired consistency (2-3 minutes). The oats will continue to thicken as they cool.
  2. Serve in a bowl topped with additional milk, banana, strawberries, nuts, coconut flakes, maple syrup and cinnamon.

Notes

Note 1 – You can use any milk of your choice. For a less creamy consistency, use half water and half milk.

Additional topping suggestions – any fruit (such as sliced apples or raspberries), dried fruit (apricot or cranberries), cocoa nibs, brown sugar instead of maple syrup.
