Ingredients
80g(2¾oz)unsalted butter
1tbspfreshly minced garlic
1tbspfinely chopped flat-leaf parsley
1tspsea salt flakes
1baguette, cut into thick 1.5 cm (½ inch) slices
225g(1½cup)grated melting cheese (see note 1) (optional)
Instructions

Preheat the oven grill (broiler).
Make the garlic butter – Melt the butter in 10-second intervals in the microwave until it softens (it will take roughly 20 seconds).
Mix in the garlic, parsley and salt using a spoon.
Spread the butter on the bread – Spread the butter mixture on one side of the bread slices.
Add the cheese – Top each slice with the grated cheese, if using.
Grill (broil) – Place your bread on a baking tray (use two trays if needed so that no pieces overlap). Grill (broil) for 2–5 minutes. The bread will cook quickly so keep an eye on it.
Serve – Serve immediately.
