Who doesn’t love a juicy chargrilled beef burger loaded with melted cheese, tangy pickles and fresh crispy vegetables? I know my family does, which is why I often find myself making these insanely melt-in-the-mouth burgers on the regular. They are so easy to make and super low-cost and only require one pan (or a barbecue!) and 22 minutes – brilliant! I sometimes hide extra chopped veggies in the burgers to up the nutrition factor, and using breadcrumbs in the mix ensures the patties are impossible to dry out or get wrong. I often make more patties than I need as they are freezer-friendly and also make great lunchbox fillers.

Whether you cook your burgers outside in summer on the barbecue for that extra smoky flavour, or whip up a quick kitchen fakeaway on a Friday night, you can be sure that these Juicy Homemade Beef Burgers will never disappoint. As they are highly customisable they will suit the whole family – even fussy eaters. I myself am partial to a classic cheese, pickle and red onion combo, but the rest of my family have their own favourites. So sometimes I melt the cheese onto the burgers in the pan, but then serve the toppings in the middle of the table so everyone can build their own.
We love Oven Baked Crispy Potato Wedges or a creamy Homemade Coleslaw! Other ideas are steamed corn, Potato Salad, Macaroni and Cheese, a green leafy salad or freezer chips (fries) for an extra speedy dinner!
Freshly shredded lettuce, caramelised onions, coleslaw, avocado or sauteed mushrooms are some delicious ideas. And then of course we can head down the “Aussie burger” route, which includes tinned beetroot (beets), a fried egg, crispy bacon and … pineapple! You can’t knock it until you try it, it’s so tasty! If you’re a garlic lover, swap out the regular mayo for some aioli, and spice lovers can add some sriracha or other hot sauce – or mix some sriracha into the regular mayo.

These Juicy Homemade Beef Burgers can easily be transformed into mini sliders! Divide the beef mixture into 12 pieces and shape into patties. Cook the patties for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until cooked through. Serve in 12 brioche slider buns and all of your favourite toppings. Use a toothpick to hold the sliders in place and serve!

Good evening,
I just wanted to extend a big thank you to you! This was my second time preparing them for my husband, altered slightly per his preferences, and he absolutely loves them and always demolishes them! Unfortunately, I am unable to comment on taste myself as I am a vegetarian. Objectively, however, they do smell wonderful and even look aesthetically appetizing!
Thank you again! Wishing you the best and looking forward to trying your other creations!
Nicole says:
Hi Josephine, thanks so much for taking the time to comment even though you are vegetarian! ❤️ So happy that these are a winner for your husband and I hope you enjoy many more of the recipes (both meat and vegetarian) on the website! 🥰 Thanks for the rating too. Nic x
Sarah says:
Hi Nicole,
Can these be baked in the oven rather than a pan?. If so, what temperature and how long would I cook them for please?
Nicole says:
Hi Sarah, this is a great idea. I haven’t tried it, but I will! I would place the patties on a lined oven tray and bake at 220°C (425°F) (200°C/400°F fan-forced) for 12–15 minutes, flipping once halfway through, until cooked through. I imagine they won’t develop quite the same golden crust as pan-frying, but they’ll still be juicy and work well for feeding a crowd or meal prep. ❤️ Nic x

It’s free name to me how simple ingredients can be SO delicious .. I am longer going to buy patties. These are beautiful, soft and juicy. They taste incredible! Me and hubby made burgers today and he could not stop saying how yum they were! We used Cleavers organic mince from Coles and didn’t changea thing with the meat besides not having tomato sauce. We made them super thick so made 6 with 2 x 500g packs of mince. So BEAUTIFUL. It was all oooo and aaaahhh when eating haha! Yum yum we are both so happy, he even made two more burgers for tonight and tomorrow he was that impressed and same for me I have work burgers and dinner sorted 🤤😌🥰 so happy

Carriad Cockcroft says:
Great, quick burger recipe. Had to alter slightly with sourdough bread crumbs. Added garlic and onion granules.
Cooked well and didn’t break up. Didn’t need to add the water. Used 5% fat mince. Also added a chopped relish of gherkins and jalapeños – delish 😋
Thanks for sharing x
Nicole says:
